Mantra (Laniakea)

Progressive Metal since 2009
Free spirit of the French metal scene, Mantra has been exploring the boundaries of progressive music for nearly 10 years.

At the crossroads of shamanic rhythms and deep atmospheres, Mantra alternates between frenzy and patience, from the technicality of death metal to the melancholy of doom music. In this progressive context, the quartet uses the power of sound on the soul and the flesh, to provide a mesmerizing and transcendental music.
The compositions of Mantra are meant to be subtle and shamanic. The musical work is thought on both visual and auditive aspects: on stage, the composition is sublimated in a musical and mystical ritual, interspersed with fractal visualizations.
Following the completion of "Into the Light", and a series of tours across France, the band unfolds in 2016 its second meditative opus : a concept-album entitled "Laniakea" set in the prehistoric ages, released on October 21st via the label Finisterian Dead End and distributed in France by Season of Mist and in the UK by Code 7.
Driven by imposing tribal polyrhythmic patterns, 'Laniakea' is a complex and immersive album. The band enables the listener to witness the birth of God in the ethereal vapor of the hallucinatory substances consumed by the first men. The result is an epic album, with incredibly brilliant production, where technical mastery is combined with nuance to build a true musical journey.
Recorded at Brown Bear Recording studio and mastered at Master Lab Systems, the new album will definitely have a unique sound, which should highlight the musical universe of the band, where the primitive rhythms of the first Men are progressively overthrown by earthquakes of distortion, that sound both mystic and modern.
